(so Here's my Horror Movie, um, Thoughts)
The Human Centipede II

Oh, geez. I'm not sure which one is more disturbing - part 1, or part 2. Nice job on taking the story forward, though. So unbelievably creepy, supremely disgusting, equally upsetting on another level & somehow on a "bringing it a little closer to the reality of home," and frankly...I don't know...make'y-people'y-sucky-and'y-scary.

I tried to talk about part 1 with a group of people, and they literally said "We don't talk about that." I wasn't quite clear on what they meant, so I began to elaborate a tiny bit and they emphatically and loudly interrupted me and said "NO. NO. We don't talk about that." Reminded me of that line in Bullets over Broadway (oooh! I forgot about that movie! I love that movie! I'll add that to my list of favorites...) where she dramatically states with her hand over John Cusak's (sp?) lips, "Shhhh...No, don't speak - no, don't speak..." Hilarious. Love that movie. Where was I? Oh yeah. This grotesquerie ("Honey, I'm stopping by the grotesquerie. Want me to pick anything up for you? I hear the gore is pretty fresh this week!") Anyways...
Why in black & white?
Music set the tone well, but the sound effects were a little over-the-top (which honestly, I was grateful for, because it was so, so, so disturbing that the exaggerated sound snapped me back from the suspension of disbelief). But Yuck. Super creepy bad guy (well done, actor!). Shivers-in-the-really-bad-way. Fuck. Now I have to watch part 3 because...I have no idea. Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Idiot.
So. Who's gonna spoon with me tonight & keep the boogie man away? You sleep on the side closest to the door. Hm? What? No takers? Dammit.
