Movie Review: The Imitation Game

STAR STAR STAR STAR 1/2
 The Pitch Review

DIRECTOR: It's your voice, Benedict. We need your voice in this. Your impressive, gorgeous voice.
PRODUCER: And your exotically beautiful looks - those eyes, that hair, and yes, that voice!
BENEDICT: You don't need to convince, me anymore. This is a fabulous character. The book...the script...they're so moving. The scope of the story is absolutely impressive. It touches on political history, social commentary, emotional development, personal growth, the exquisite personal pain of this man... And I simply adore the young "me." He's fantastic. Where did you find him? What's his name again, Alex Lawther?
PRODUCER: Yes, between the two of you, the story will be incredibly compelling.  Steal the show, the two of you.
DIRECTOR: Tell me we've got the costumes, sets & footage set. And a good editor to seam the story together.
PRODUCER: Indeed, we do!
KEIRA:  The relationship between the characters is so lovely. And complicated. Benedict, we can do this together! Intense chemistry, but no chemistry. We're actors! And based on a true story, you say? I could not love it more.
DIRECTOR: Indeed it is! You actors will have to capture the subtleties between the lines. I want the audience to feel the emotion & tension between what is said and what is actually happening. Because that's a code of its own - and that's what this movie is about.
BENEDICT: Beautiful.  I'm so looking forward to this role. You know, when you really think about it, it's quite tragic, as a whole. Even under the victories, you feel the personal, tragic pain of this man.
PRODUCER: The audience will love it.
KEIRA: But I want to steal the show.
ALEX LAWTHER: Shut up, Keira.
